How is she SIX years old?!

It seems like she was born yesterday, but my baby girl is actually six years old! Time really does fly when you're having fun I guess because her six years have absolutely flown by! She is the light of our lives and the sweetest part of her grandparent's lives too! This girl has LOTS of people who love and adore her and are priviledged to watch her grow up and bloom into the beautiful young lady she is becoming!

She decided that instead of having a big party she would rather have a few friends stay the night and get a Nintendo Wii from Mommy & Daddy. She was SO excited when she opened it & we've had lots of fun playing with it!

Her actual birthday was on a Thursday. I made cupcakes and took them to school for her class after lunch and for dinner Gammy, G-Daddy & Uncle Andy came to eat with us and give the birthday girl her gifts. I was a big fail of a Mom for pictures on that night but we did have a fun celebration!

On Saturday, she had 3 friends come over and stay the night. They played lots of Wii, ate lots of cookie cake and sweets and acted like silly, hilarious girls all night!

Happy 6th Birthday my little Rock Star Princess! I love you to the moon & back!

October in a nutshell

Well, since I have taken another unintentional blogging hiatus I'll try to hit the highlights of October.
I just love Fall. It's such a wonderful, beautiful season. I have always loved summer best for the fun things it brings, like vacation and flip flops and the beach, but this year, I was more than happy to say buh-bye to Summer and welcome the cooler temps of Fall! We started October out with a fun day at Southern Belle Farm! They had a pink day where breast cancer survivors got in free and they had a nice program and anyone wearing pink got a discount. It was a fun "pink" day on the farm & Little One and I spent time with a lot of my Pink Sisters :) The best part of the day by far was the pink ribbon hay ride where survivors and our children went on holding a balloon. There were lots of supporters and co-survivors walking behind us and they had balloons as well. When we got to a clear area we all released our balloons. It was a fun way to celebrate with so many women who have been touched by such an ugly disease.

The next week, Little One had a field trip to the very same farm & I was so happy I could go with them. We had a fun day on the farm (again).

The next week Little One & I went to visit our friends in NC for a fun weekend! We went to an annual festival that kicks off ski season for Boone, NC called the Wooly Worm Festival. I know, it sounds wierd. We had a great time with both of our BFF's and their family!

We went to a cave and did a tour (of which the little girls were NOT fans of, as evidenced by the second picture!)

We also went on a long hike at the place we stayed. This was the group of crazy kids we went with & had a blast :)
Little One's school had Red Ribbon Week in October and they had a few fun dress up days. The only one I got a picture of was her costume for Book Character dress up day. She decided to go as one of her very favorite book characters, Pinkalicious. If you haven't heard of her, she has a book series and it is absolutely adorable! Perfect for any "girlie girls" in your life. Her Gammy had bought her a dress up dress a couple months ago so we only had to accessorize to make the costume work. Of course, when I told her I would spray her hair pink the deal was sealed. She became Pinkalicious!
She also won first place for best costume in Kindgergarten! She got a ribbon, certificate and Books A Million gift card! We were so proud :)

So, that's about it for October, except Little One's birthday & Halloween which I'll tell you about in the next posts! Here's hoping I'll be a better blogger in November!
