Last week the news reports started and people all over GA started buzzing...s-n-o-w! I mean, it's serious here people...shut down the city when the snowflakes start falling. Shut.it.down! I always laugh at this & all the crazy people at the grocery stores thinking we will be snowed in for extended periods. Well, this one time they were right! Thankfully, I decided to be one of the crazy people and brave the grocery store crowds the day that the big "snow storm" was coming. I went mostly because I hadn't been since before Christmas and we were down to pretty much cookies and crackers to eat. Maybe some ketchup to dip them in. I was thinking the whole time I was at the store how crazy I was because I was just positive we would be able to make it to the grocery store the very next day if we had to cook something. Well, let me just say it's a good thing I listened to my better judgement & got the full grocery list. The "snow storm" the weather forecasters were talking about did come, only it was an ice storm on our side of town & it didn't melt for 5 days (6-7 in some places)! Yes, we were iced in and were confined to our homes for days. This isn't something I can handle well after about 48 hours, I'm sorry to admit. I was going stir-crazy on days 3 & 4!
We went outside on Monday morning to a winter wonderland, not knowing what we were in for. The Little One started to immediately build a snowman, but realized very quickly that wouldn't be possible so she ended up with a volcano. Nice!
I will say it was lots of fun for sledding and snow-tubing! The neighborhood kids (and adults) had a great time the first couple days sliding down hills and one of our neighbors has a four wheeler that he was pulling around anyone that was willing on a tube. Now that was fun!
